Daniel Anselment, MA
Public Safety Training Manager
Dan Anselment has been hired to manage the new HERO Public Safety Training Center. Anselment has spent the past five years overseeing the University of Tennessee’s National Forensic Academy. He’ll be returning home to Minnesota, having previously served as a community service officer and police officer with the Burnsville Police Department (11 years) while also providing his expertise to the Rice County Sheriff’s Office of the Coroner and Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office as a Medicolegal death investigator. While his roots certainly demonstrated a connection to the Twin Cities, it was his experience as a law enforcement trainer and his recent work managing several training facilities in Tennessee at the UT National Forensic Academy that ultimately won the endorsement from leaders in both Cottage Grove and Woodbury (who jointly own and operate the HERO Center). Anselment, who holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership, started his new role September 2019.
